Head banging part deux

It seems my previous post may have caused a wee bit of confusion among the ranks.

So, to clarify and end all the head scratching ….

In religious parlance, a core belief or fundamental principle is a tenet.

A tenant is someone who occupies land or property and pays rent.

Possibly the only time one could use the term religious tenant is if  the local vicar or equivalent was being charged rent for his digs.

Phew! … Next!

Ark.

  1. While we’re at it, might as well go for broke.

tent – a collapsible shelter made of fabric used for camping outdoors

tenancy – the right to use land in exchange for rent

    tenement – an apartment building.

A common tenet of tenancy agreements is that tenants who fall behind on their rent will soon find themselves living in a tent after being evicted from their tenements.

    1. 1000 points for you, Mister Ron. Even dear old Colonialist, bless his cotton socks, would have been hard-pressed to match this.
      Nothing tentative about your tenacity.

  2. Well dammit! That was somewhat of a letdown. I was hoping for some roasted x-ian and all I got was tenant and tenet.

Which I always understood as being some sort of fundamental base to a religious position. Not that it matters much to be. A fundament to bullshit is just more bullshit…

    1. Agreed. But when some of these enlightened apologists embark on an extended discourse concerning the apparent veracity of their claims including references to the core tenants of their faith ….
Well, you get the picture, I’m sure?

  3. 🤣 HEY NOW! I have a lot of principled tenants in my life so I think I deserve a little…

    1. Wasn’t moi, of that I can assure you Mister D. It was probably that dreadful aftershave you use, which leaked all over my splendiferous blog post that caused your comments to go into Spam. I should have a few stern words with WordPress, if I were you. Or … stop using fleur de lys as an aftershave.
      Comments restored btw.

      1. So what you’re sayin’ is that WordPress just takes liberties on you? They just do WHATEVER they want to you no matter how shameful or inappropriate the violation might be… and you let ’em!? 😮

Ark, Ark, Ark, my fine SA friend. Don’t let ’em take liberties on you! Keep your backside hard and flat against the wall and a whole Fuji apple firmly in your mouth! 😈😁 That should stop all those violating liberties and give you BACK your dignity. Take it from me.

          1. 🤣 I have to say my friend, you are a good sport. I nod in deep appreciation that you are willing and able to match my… oh, how can it be defined(?)…

…my wicked conniving traps and innuendos? I respectfully nod to your witty poise. Does ANYTHING rattle you Ark? 😈 I am impressed. I must say, if I were caught in an unfortunate circumstance in some dark alley at night by unscrupulous thugs wanting to inflict harm, I would HOPE I’d have you covering my backside. 🤭

I mean that in the most respectable, honorable way of course. 😁

  4. I was speculating about people who lived through scripture, the tenants in the tenements of theology (the Lord’s mansion has many rooms!) but then realized I hadn’t the foggiest notion what you were addressing so I let it lie.
