  1. Would love to watch Interstellar (I’m a Sc-Fi fan), but refuse to “rent” movies and apparently that’s the only option right now through Amazon Prime. I checked Netflix … nothing. I don’t subscribe to any others.

    1. I have the movie as part of my collection. I must have watched it a dozen times and it still gives me goosebumps.
It was on Netflix a while back.
Another great movie is Gravity with Clooney and Bullock. I think that is still on Netflix. I watched it a fortnight ago.

      1. I’m pretty sure I saw Gravity, but it’s been awhile. Just checked to see where it was available … and it too must be rented via Amazon. Greedy S.O.B.’s!! Apparently no longer available on Netflix. *sigh*

          1. Have no idea … !!?? But maybe …

I actually I didn’t check via my TV, but rather my online accounts. I wouldn’t think there would be any difference, but ya’ never know. Anyway, I’ll double-check via the TV this evening. Maybe I’ll get lucky. πŸ™‚

          2. I never watch the TV but view everything on a laptop.
I looked under genres – clicked science fiction and both movies were in the first line!

          3. Nope. Nothin’. Apparently your assumption is correct and there is a difference between countries. Doesn’t make sense, but then neither do a lot of other things … like our rabid leader.

Anyway, due to my search, I added a couple of others to my Watch List. Have you watched Orbiter 9?

      1. The film captured the ambience very well, costumes were fantastic, but it did try to turn Paul into a hero figure, which the character isn’t.

Have been hearing very good reviews of the new series being shot.

  2. Interstellar is one of my favorite SciFi films too. But I have to give The Martian a slightly higher score for great entertainment and good scientifically based portrayals. However, as I understand it from the scientific-space community at NASA, JPL, etc, for the latter Interstellar had excellent scientifically-based portrayals giving it the edge in realism compared to The Martian.

Now, for the absolute ULTIMATE SciFi film of All-time, Spaceballs wins hands down Ark. No debate! πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜›

        1. I just read that scores of people actually believe the film is based on a true story!
I suppose this is reasonable when you consider one or two people also believe the bible is true – and they made plenty of movies about that too.!

  3. Disappointed in Orbiter 9. In fact, fell asleep during the last part of it. IMO, the plot twist would have been considerably more effective had they not presented it so early in the movie. And to “fall” for the girl after a “one night stand”? Give. Me. A. Break.

But thanks for the suggestion. At least it wasn’t as bad as some sc-fi’s!!
