If you are thinking you don’t need to wear a mask, please read this essay. I do not know who wrote the below essay which I received from a friend on Facebook, but it makes such good points that I’ve decided to pass it on. If anyone knows its source, please let me know.

“Chicken pox is a virus. Lots of people have had it, and probably don’t think about it much once the initial illness has passed. But it stays in your body and lives there forever, and maybe when you’re older, you have debilitatingly painful outbreaks of shingles. You don’t just get over this virus in a few weeks, never to have another health effect. We know this because it’s been around for years, and has been studied medically for years.
Herpes is also a virus. And once someone has it, it stays in their body and lives…

      1. masks, isolation, hand washing, and staying home
if we had kids of school age Id seriously consider a bit of home schooling for one year.
NH is a good state to be in right now, we’re careful, few wackadoos around, and it’s mostly
taking out the top tier of the elderly, probably because 1)they are fragile, and 2) they truly don’t understand
why the kids don’t want to hug them. ‘just one hug for grannie…”

At some point no one knew anything about any virus.
      This is the reality.
Unlike a virus such as HIV/AIDS (now we understand the methods of transmission) it is fairy easy/straightforward to avoid infection.

As the Covid -19 infection rate continues to rise, the death rate also, and there are now new /secondary outbreaks and our hospitals (and staff ) are in many cases overwhelmed, do you not think it wise to take every recommended precaution until the time virologists have been able to formulate an effective vaccine?

Or, do you think there is far too much fear-mongering and on the basis that we will all die eventually anyway we might as well say: ”To hell with it” and tell our governments and local authorities that we will not have our basic rights /freedom curtailed and carry on regardless?

      1. ”To hell with it” and tell our governments and local authorities that we will not have our basic rights /freedom curtailed and carry on regardless? Sounds so….sounds so…American! Hell, we’re doin’ just fine here by mostly pretending things are fine and having pretty much no Federal Gov’t aid in helping us with this. I think, maybe, 2 or 3 people only have come down with this in the States and no one has died from it here. We smart! Rest of world: dumb!

  1. Does that mean asymptomatic carriers of chickenpox and herpes should wear masks in public? Just asking for a skeptical friend.

      I have no idea.

One would imagine that, people with the HIV/AIDS virus probably wear a condom if/when they have sex so do you think those infected with Covid -19 virus should also wear one?
