Hello Ark. Have you managed to get photo of one of these sparkling with due, especially on the wings? Or do they not come out until later in the day? Hugs
Hello Ark. The birds around here love those small yard fountains and play in them like crazy. So maybe dragonflies would like a mist or gentle fountain spray? If not you will get some grand pictures of playing birds. Good luck. Hugs
Wow! These images have to be some of my most favorite Arkesatan photos from the renown Spectacular Botanical Arboretum of Creatures & Critters to Overwhelm the Senses. Bravo Ark, bravo. 🙂
Eh, perhaps. But seeing is believing. The wonderful contrast of colors, the gorgeous lines on the Kirby’s Dropwing—the sheer awe of molecular developed structures so perfectly evolved/adept for this creature’s needs and purpose—you have captured brilliantly in these two photos. Wow! Talk about how a picture is worth a thousand words, geezzz. HAH! And you lot thought I spoke/write too many words! 😆 Ark’s garden photos put me to shame! 😉

No shots with dew on the wings, Scottie.
They only tend to make an appearance once the day is a bit warmer.

Hello Ark. I could see you setting up a gentle water misting that you could get them to fly through? Just a thought. Hugs

The sunbirds always turn up when I use the garden hose.
Maybe I should use it when the dragonflies are about?

Sunday’s match was proof enough that the red wave is going all the way.

Experience is a great teacher. It’s looking good, but it’s a long season.

I agree with you John. I definitely think it is Liverpool’s EPL Championship, barring a swath of injuries to several key players. 😉

Nice photos as usual. I’m rather jealous. It was only 10 degrees (F) here today or -12 degrees (C) so no dragons here for a while.

It’s been throwing it down for the past hour. Much welcome rain with the added bonus of the usual pyrotechnics associated with Highveld storms.

I’d take that over the cold any day.

I agree. Never been a fan of the cold.

That first shot is especially fine, Ark. The wings are extraordinary. All those irregular facets. Isn’t evolution wonderful.
