According to Wikipedia, the opening rear window was to allow luggage to be loaded into the backseat.
Pretty cool feature actually.

It was a fun ride until I had an altercation with a delivery van in the middle of a traffic light junction.
I never climbed on a bike again after that.

Ooops. Bikes would be – almost – fine if it weren’t for cars, lorries, gravel on the road, sand, and a few other… “details”.

Agreed. I might still be riding if it were not for the accident.
I was never a proper biker, for me it was a cheap and easy mode of transport to get to the centre of the city where I worked.
Unfortunately it was one of those days where one driver decided a red traffic light did not apply to him!
