Incy Wincy

While tidying up a few old plant pots during my official ”Tea Break”, I came across this little feller.

And little is the operative word.

2 -5mm tops.

He is a male Comb-Footed Spider. He’s part of the Theridiidae family that includes Widows and Button Spiders and even Ben’s recent find which we think is a common house spider.

This guy is not harmful to humans in the least.

I don’t see them that often so this was a treat.

Cute, eh? ( Nan, don’t answer that!)

🙂

    • Pleasure.
Since the arrival of our five hens the insect life has tended to be a bit scarce. They will eat almost everything it seems.
I’m hoping for a bit of a revival once summer arrives in full steam.

        • Smile. Groundless fear – though understandable from any new mum.
There are so few spiders that are truly of medical significance to humans.
Best thing to do is the Googly thing.
Type your state and search for the spiders that live there.
Remember, you can own Semi Automatic rifles over there so the spiders have little chance of survival.
All you have to do then is practice saying: ”Hasta la vista, baby!”
