Don’t give me no jive, and don’t tell me no lies!

From the blog of Pastor David Robertson.
Martha
Ark, you misunderstand my statement above – please read it again
” if I were to produce evidence for the Exodus including archaeological, non-biblical historical accounts and proof of the exact numbers which left Egypt, where they settled/wandered – you would just cover your ears and eyes move onto something else – because it is not ‘truth’ you are looking for. ”
I didn’t say I was privy to any extra evidence you haven’t already seen. Why would I bother trying to persuade you of the biblical account of the Exodus?
The only teensy weensy problem I see here is …. there is no evidence to support the biblical tale, and in fact what evidence that has been produced describes an entirely different history.

”I never really understood religion
Except it seems a good excuse to kill …”

Religion. Ten Years After

Go buy the album. It’s brilliant.

  1. It’s all belief, no?
They believe that you will never believe even if God stood you on the shore, parted the waters and patted you on the bot in that universal gesture which means “Toddle~!”

You believe that even if God Himself fronted up to them (with you as witness) and said “Dammit! My Son Ark is right, I don’t exist!” they would still believe. So?

So stop looking for evidence and start getting them thinking.
Like the conman Rat says in that Feivel (animated mouse) movie “Hey! Who ya gonna believe, ME or your own eyes?”

You need not evidence, Ark, but to get in first with a convincing persona and story. A Bit late for that now …

  2. Damn, I wouldnt know how to respond. Either 1) note that every real archaeologist in the world has said there is no evidence for the exodus, 2) as him again to produce any reliable, testable information at all whatsoever and discuss if it is evidence, or 3) write him off as a lost cause, a verified liar and charlatan…

  3. Though it wasn’t Robertson that said that but he can say something like that but wouldn’t provide you the evidence

if I were to produce evidence for the Exodus including archaeological, non-biblical historical accounts and proof of the exact numbers which left Egypt, where they settled/wandered

Please provide the evidence and don’t leave me hanging like Robertson did

you would just cover your ears and eyes move onto something else – because it is not ‘truth’ you are looking for.

I am 99.99% sure you are referring to yourself here
