Leading you up the garden path: Nicotiana alata

Nicotiana alata

Nicotiana alata

A beautiful and fragrant –  only in the evening – but poisonous plant that has taken over some parts of the garden.

Another one of those invasive species whose arrival is a mystery.

It comes in several different shades including pink, yellow and crimson. This is the first time I have seen a variegated leaf. I’ll have to take a few more shots of the other varieties.

Ark.

    1. Surprising how many plants we like s much are poisonous, some even deadly. I wonder how they originally discovered this?
Made heathens eat them, perhaps? 🙂
