Southern Masked Weaver.

This is not the bird building the nest up the back garden that I have been keeping an eye on, but one slightly more juvenile. The head colouring still shows yellow marks but those will gradually disappear until his face is all black.

Female, pulling bits from the fronds of the palm tree in the front garden. Not sure if she is ”attached” to the male on the shot above, but he seemed to be watching her closely from his perch on the succulent less than twenty feet away.
