Sorry to bug you …

Dauber Wasp (Sceliphron spirifex)

Handsome looking mud dauber wasp that frequents our spot but always seems to appear when I do not have the camera to hand. This one  time I was lucky!

Honey Bee taking a breather on an Arum.

Crimson Speckled Footman pauses for a drink

  1. I was weirded out over the wasps yellow legs coming from such a dark body. I know the honey bee on the arum is the star of the photo, but I really liked the orange pole that pokes up over the white rim of the flower. I had several quick flashes of sarcastic ideas, but decided to spare everyone. Be well. Hugs

    • Thanks , Pete. Looks can be deceiving, and I have never had any problems with them.
They are (as far as I know) not aggressive and tend to be very jittery when I get close, another reason I have so few photos of them.
But like all the creatures I share the garden with, I treat them with respect … just in case!
